As the inaugural post of the paolopix.com blog, let's look back at 5 moments that made 2015's hotline bling!
1. Ashley's 30th Nameday
This past January, the wifey turned the big three-oh. To celebrate, we had our first party at the new house. On the menu was a mac and cheese and mashed potato bar, as well as many other delicious dishes brought by our friends and family. To cap it off, our friend Chau made a Lannister birthday cake to commemorate the occasion!
2. Meeting Whitley Tanner
2015 saw the addition of yet another Stuhl to the family. In June, we visited the Lewisburg Stuhl's to meet the little one for the first time. Oh that dog of mine!
3. Hawaii Honeymoon
When Bert & Gayl invited us to their wedding in Hawaii, me and Ashley decided it was the perfect opportunity to not only partake in a friend's big day, but to also celebrate our honeymoon. Our first destination was Oahu, where we explored Waikiki, Diamondhead Crater, and of course the wedding of Bert & Gayl. The second half of our trip was just me and the boo exploring Maui. One of the best parts of the trip was witnessing the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala.
4. Bar Harbor Adventures
2015 saw the return of the Stuhl's to Bar Harbor. During our trip, we explored Acadia National Park as well as the town of Bar Harbor itself. Adventures included, but were not limited to, hiking around Jordan Pond, summiting Champlain Mountain via the Precipice Trail, and various ice cream trips to Mt. Desert Is. Ice Cream. The trip ended with a bang by celebrating the wedding of Joanne and Norm.
5. First Annual Friendsgiving @ the FilipinoRed Keep
Instead of hitting up the overly crowded night-before-Thanksgiving bar scene, we decided to bring the party to us. To celebrate everyone being back for the holiday, we hosted a party at our place. The drinks and food were plenty, IPAs galore, and the playlist killed it! I also set up a mock photo booth to get fun portraits of friends and family who came to party. Looks like we will make this party an annual thing!
P.S. Don't keep Legos you've spent hours building on the lower levels of shelving.
5a. Game of Thrones was awesome.
End 2015. Start 2016.
