At about 2.5 hours away, Assateague Island National Seashore is the closest place I can go to do night photography. Having been there multiple times at night this year, I'm always looking for new and interesting compositions. Before my latest night time trip, I went to Assateague during the day, for the first time in more than 15 years. The daytime vibes are starkly different than being there at night. The infamous feral horses are plentiful and in plain sight. Beachgoers and bayside beachgoers alike crowd the shores. During the daytime, I was able to find new spots within Assateague to create new and interesting Milky Way photos. Enjoy the pix below!
